Current Mood: working
We went to Metteran at Saturday, and also to Kerala caves. The caves were nice, but I've seen better, much better. The Metteran is kind of ecologically pure zone – a mountain station, with few hotels. The car and the driver wait at the entrance, and you are taking a horse/rickshaw/line 11(by foot), and exploring the area. The area is covered by trees, very nice and cool place. Lots of wild monkeys and charming mosquitoes. So – we rented few horses, ride them for a while, and then realized that they are better to let die peacefully... :) Continued by foot, on the railway tracks... Almost like the Indiana Jones, with a lot of exciting surprises… Afterwards we arrived to market place, and there I saw, for a first time, a giant wheel operated by some boys with acrobatic moves. They just jumped from one sitting basket to another, and in this way made the whole giant wheel move… Very Indian way to operate things... And very safe one too! :) So, we went from one store to another, till they had their electrical breakdown, and we reached our physical one... So – in the dark – we started to go back (almost 30 minutes of fast walk). Full moon helped a little, but still – we walked on the railway tracks, in the night, on some Indian mountain – not sure if this is the right direction.. And, I don't need to mention all the wild monkeys... Then, when we finally arrived – we couldn't find our driver, so walking all across the parking lot (in the woods), and shouting "AMDOCS!!!!" was the only way to wake him up… Surrealistic… Then the night drive on the Indian highway, when no one turns the lights on (they horn instead) – was a good "finito" to the days adventures! |
